A stress-free holiday season
The holidays are a time full of magic and celebration, but also come with their share of stress. Here I share with you some tips to navigate without pressure until Christmas.
1. Don't aim for perfection
The impossible no one is bound! Even though we would all like everything to always be perfect, that rarely happens in real life. What if we did our best and took some of the pressure off ourselves that we often put on our shoulders?
2. Focus on your meaning of the holiday season
Christmas is a celebration of traditions, there are some that we keep from our childhood, others that we create with our minis and there are so many great ideas that we can find, among others, on the networks social! Not all of these options may work in our family and it's important to focus on what's important to us.
3. Think of yourself
The holiday season is a time to give, to think of those we love, to take the time to get together. We sometimes tend to forget ourselves while wanting to please those we love. It's important to think a little about yourself in all of this!
4. Plan, but give yourself space
Between special outings, parties, invitations, activities and daily life, it's easy to get lost and feel overwhelmed.
To get through December without going in circles, make a plan of the events you want to attend and put them in your calendar once confirmed. Also remember that too much planning is the same as not enough and leaves empty days on your calendar.
5. Allow yourself to say no
You can't be everywhere at once and you can't do everything at the same time. It's important to listen to ourselves, set our limits and accept that we cannot clone ourselves, even if it could be very practical! Take the time to choose the things that are most important to you and your family.
6. Keep moments for yourself
Whether they are planned or happen on a whim, you need moments to think about yourself. Take time to rest, have fun, do an activity that you enjoy and that is just for you!
