Thanksgiving: A Time for Family, Tradition, and Delicious Memories

Thanksgiving has always held a special place in our family. While many of my friends didn’t celebrate it growing up, in my household, it was our favorite holiday – hands down. It’s not just about the turkey or the pumpkin pie; it’s about something much bigger: family.

If you've been following us for a while, you probably know that we are a close-knit bunch. My family is my rock, and they’ve been a huge part of this incredible journey with me. My mom, especially, is not only the foundation of my personal life but also a key pillar in my business. She’s always been by my side, guiding me with wisdom, love, and the kind of support only a mother can offer.

You might have noticed that many of our products carry names that are dear to me – and to my family. Over the years, we've named several items after family members, like Cindy (my mom), Kat, Rita, Ellarose, Arlo, Claire, Genève, Julie, and Aimée, to name a few. These names are more than just labels; they carry a piece of my family with them.

A Thanksgiving Tradition Like No Other

Thanksgiving at my house is no small affair. My mom starts setting up her table at least a week in advance. No joke! She’s the queen of organization, and every year, she adds something new to her already beautiful collection of decorations. But what I love the most is when we bring out my grandmother Rita’s dishes. They’re more than just plates and cups; they’re a part of our family’s history, holding memories that span generations.

Of course, it’s not just the table setting that makes Thanksgiving special – it’s the food!

Every year, my mom prepares the most incredible gravy you can imagine. And I’m not exaggerating when I say that dipping freshly buttered bread into her gravy is the highlight of the meal (yes, with real butter – it’s a must!). My mom, Cindy, has perfected that gravy recipe over the years, and let me tell you, it’s unbeatable!

The Dessert Everyone Waits For

Now, let’s talk dessert. Our Thanksgiving feast wouldn’t be complete without our all-time favorite: Trisha Yearwood’s butterscotch pie. It’s to die for! Over the years, we’ve made a few tweaks to the original recipe to suit our tastes. We skip the meringue topping and instead use egg yolks and whipped cream to create the perfect, creamy finish. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water – I can’t wait for this weekend!

Thanksgiving Is About More Than Food

While the food is amazing, what truly makes Thanksgiving special is the time we spend together. For me, it’s a day to slow down, take a break from the hustle, and just enjoy the company of the people who matter most. Whether it’s sharing stories, laughing over old memories, or simply being together, it’s those moments that make Thanksgiving my favorite time of the year.

So, whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, I hope you have a wonderful long weekend filled with love, laughter, and plenty of quality time with your loved ones – your own little village.
